Flux Magnetic Mesh Door Screen

What it is and what it is made of

The Flux Magnetic Mesh Door Screen is a mesh panel for a doorway. The mesh is polyester fiber, a woven fabric with small openings that lets air move through while it stands between your room and the outdoors. Down the center of the panel, magnets meet and hold the two halves together. Walk through and the magnets pull the screen closed behind you. No need to reach back and shut it by hand.

The screen attaches with a magnetic fastener. You fix the hook-and-loop tape along the top of the door frame, press the screen onto it, and the job is done. Push pins are in the box for frames where tape alone is not enough. The whole setup takes a few minutes and needs no tools beyond what you have at home.

Sizes

Two sizes cover the common single door openings in US homes. Measure your door frame before you pick.

Measure the full opening, width and height, not just the door panel. The screen should cover the frame with a little room to spare so the edges sit flat against the trim.

Colors

Black and white are the two options. Black reads as a screen and blends with dark frames and doorways. White sits quietly against light trim and painted frames. Both colors use the same polyester fiber mesh and the same magnetic closure, so the choice is about how the screen looks on your door.

How to fit and use it

1. Clean the top of the door frame so the tape bonds well.
2. Measure the opening and confirm your size.
3. Cut the hook-and-loop tape to the width of the frame.
4. Press the tape along the top of the frame.
5. Press the top of the screen onto the tape.
6. Add push pins along the top if you want extra hold.
7. Let the two halves hang and check that the magnets meet in the middle.

Once it is up, use the door as you always do. The magnets part as you walk through and close behind you. Pets can push through the same way. If the halves do not meet cleanly, adjust the tape so the screen hangs straight and the magnets line up.

This screen suits a sliding door as well as a standard door. On a sliding door, fit it to the opening you walk through, and keep the sliding panel clear of the screen so the two do not catch on each other.

Care

Shake the screen out or vacuum it with a brush attachment to lift dust and pollen. For a deeper clean, take the screen down from the tape, hand wash it in cool water with a mild soap, rinse, and let it air dry fully before you hang it back up. Do not put it in a dryer. Keep the hook-and-loop tape free of lint so it keeps its grip, and press the screen back onto the tape if an edge lifts.
