What this patio curtain panel is

The ShadeGuard Blackout Patio Curtain Panel is a single-piece curtain built for outdoor rooms. The fabric is 100% polyester at 110 gsm, finished with a blackout coating. That coating is what gives the panel its full light shading, so a covered patio, porch or pergola can stay darker and cooler during bright hours. The same fabric is waterproof, which suits open-air spaces that see rain and damp air.

This is a solid-color panel with a woven construction. It hangs as a flat rectangular panel, so you can part it in the middle or draw it to one side. It works on French windows and similar wide openings, and it also suits bedrooms, living rooms, gardens, porches, pergolas and cabanas where light control matters.

Sizes

One panel is included. Pick the size that matches your opening and how much gather you want.

Size Metric
39 x 51 in 99 x 130 cm
39 x 79 in 99 x 201 cm
52 x 63 in 132 x 160 cm
52 x 84 in 132 x 213 cm
52 x 95 in 132 x 241 cm
52 x 106 in 132 x 269 cm

The 39 in (99 cm) widths suit narrower openings and single windows. The 52 in (132 cm) widths give more coverage for wider spans. Lengths run from 51 in (130 cm) up to 106 in (269 cm), so you can stop at a sill, reach a floor, or cover a tall pergola side.

Colors

Four solid colors are available:

  • Light gray, a soft neutral that reads bright in daylight
  • Dark gray, a deeper tone that hides marks and blends with shade structures
  • Khaki, a warm earth tone that sits well against wood and stone
  • White, a clean choice that reflects light on a sunny patio

Because the pattern is solid, the panel stays calm next to furniture, planters and screens. There are no tiebacks included, so plan your own hold-back method if you want the panel gathered open.

How to fit and use it

This panel uses ceiling installation with a grommet top. A rod or track mounts above the opening, and the grommets slide along it. That keeps the panel hanging straight and lets it move without snagging on the frame.

Measure your opening before you choose a size. For full light shading, the panel should cover the whole opening with a little overlap at the edges. If you want a fuller look, choose a width wider than the opening so the fabric has some gather. For a tall pergola or porch side, a longer length such as 52 x 106 in (132 x 269 cm) reaches low and blocks more low-angle sun.

Use it on a patio to cut glare over a seating area. Hang it on a porch to darken a dining spot for an evening meal. Add it to a pergola or cabana for a shaded corner. Indoors, it works on a French window or a wide living room or bedroom opening where you want the room dark. The waterproof fabric means you do not have to rush it inside at the first sign of rain, though bringing it in during long wet spells keeps it in better shape.

Care

Care is simple. Rinse the panel with water, then let it dry fully before you store it. Do not fold or pack it away damp. Once dry, store it flat or rolled in a dry place. Check the grommets now and then and wipe them clean so the panel keeps sliding smoothly on the rod.

Questions

How many panels come with this order?

This listing includes one panel. If you want two panels to part in the middle, order two.

Is this curtain really waterproof?

Yes. The fabric is waterproof, so it handles rain and damp outdoor air. Rinse it with water and let it dry before storing.

How do I install it?

It uses ceiling installation with a grommet top. Mount a rod or track above the opening and slide the grommets on.

Does it block all light?

Yes. The blackout coating on the 100% polyester fabric gives full light shading, so the space behind it stays dark.
