The Haven HDPE Privacy Screen is a single-piece panel of HDPE mesh. HDPE is a dense woven plastic that holds its shape outdoors and stands up to sunlight. The weave blocks 95% of light, so it softens what neighbors and passersby can see through a railing, fence or open frame. The mesh is not waterproof. Rain passes through the weave, which keeps the panel light and lets air move. That airflow matters on a balcony or patio where trapped heat and stale air make a space uncomfortable.
Each screen has grommets along the edges, spaced 39 in (1 m) apart. The grommets give you fixed, evenly spaced anchor points, so you can run rope, zip ties or bungee cord through them and pull the panel taut. The fabric weighs 120 g/m². That weight keeps the screen hanging flat instead of flapping in a breeze, while staying light enough to roll up and move when you want.
Sizes are listed in inches first, with the metric value in brackets. Width comes first, then length.

Measure the opening you want to cover before you choose. Add a little extra length if you plan to wrap the screen around a post or rail. A short 39 x 39 in (1 x 1 m) panel suits a small balcony rail or a single window. The longer 59 x 393 in (1.5 x 10 m) panel covers a full fence run or a wide patio edge in single-piece.
Four colors are available: khaki, coffee, gray and dark green. Khaki and coffee are warm earth tones that sit quietly against wood, brick and stone. Gray reads as neutral and blends with concrete, metal railings and modern furniture. Dark green works well against plants, hedges and lawn, where it looks like a dense garden backdrop. All four colors use the same HDPE mesh and the same 95% blackout weave, so the choice is about how the screen sits in your space, not about performance.
Start by checking the grommet spacing against your anchor points. Grommets sit 39 in (1 m) apart, so posts, hooks or rail mounts at that rhythm line up cleanly. Thread rope, zip ties or bungee cord through each grommet and tie off to a rail, post, fence frame or wall hook. Pull the screen snug but not tight. A little slack helps the mesh shed wind instead of straining the grommets.
On a balcony, run the screen along the railing to cut sightlines from the street or neighboring units. On a patio, hang it between posts to shade a seating area or block a view of a storage corner. Along a fence, attach it to the top rail to add privacy above the fence line. In a garden, use it as a windbreak or a backdrop behind a bench. Because rain passes through the mesh, you can leave the screen up through wet weather. If you want full rain cover, this screen is not the right product. It is a privacy and shade layer, not a waterproof tarp.
Rinse the screen with water to clear dust and pollen. Let it dry fully before you fold or roll it for storage. Store it flat or rolled, away from sharp edges that could catch the mesh. Check the grommets and ties at the start of each season and replace any worn cord. With basic care, the HDPE mesh holds its color and weave season after season.
No. The HDPE mesh is not waterproof. Rain passes through the weave, which keeps the panel light and allows airflow. It blocks light and sightlines, not water.
Grommets are spaced 39 in (1 m) apart along the edges. That spacing lets you tie the screen to rails, posts and fence frames at regular anchor points.
Sizes run from 39 x 39 in (1 x 1 m) up to 59 x 393 in (1.5 x 10 m). Colors are khaki, coffee, gray and dark green. Each order includes one privacy screen.
Rinse it with water, then let it dry completely before storing. Roll or fold it flat and keep it away from sharp edges that could snag the mesh.
