What this cover is

The Haven Stretch Standing AC Cover is a slip-on fabric cover made for tall, cylindrical portable air conditioners. It shields the body of the unit from dust, lint and everyday grime when the unit sits idle or between seasons. The fabric is a blended material with a textured knit. That knit gives the cover its stretch, so it pulls on smoothly and holds its shape around a rounded cabinet. The look is simple and modern, and it reads as furniture rather than an appliance.

Sizes and fit

This cover is made for standing air conditioners 170 to 185 cm tall. In inches, that is about 67 to 73 in. The knit stretches, so it works across that full range without looking loose or strained. Measure your unit from the floor to the top of the cabinet before you order. If your unit falls inside this range, the cover is built for it.

This is a single-piece cover. It slips over the top of the unit and covers the full body, all the way around. It is not a filter pad and it is not a replacement part. It is a dust cover for the outside of the cabinet.

How to put it on

1. Turn the unit off and let it cool.
2. Slide the cover over the top of the cabinet.
3. Pull it down until the hem sits near the base.
4. Smooth the knit with your hands so it sits even around the body.
5. Check that vents and controls you still need to reach stay clear.

The stretch in the knit does most of the work. There are no ties, zippers or straps to fiddle with. To take it off, lift the hem and roll the cover upward, then pull it free. Fold it flat for storage.

Care

Rinse the cover with water. That is all it needs for normal dust and dirt. If the fabric looks dull, a gentle rinse and a short soak in cool water will freshen it. Do not wring it hard. Let it air dry completely before you put it back on the unit or fold it away. Storing it damp can leave a musty smell and weaken the knit over time. Dry it fully, then store it flat in a dry spot.

Why a cover helps

A standing air conditioner pulls in air, and that means it also pulls in dust. When the unit is off for months, dust settles on the cabinet, in the seams and around the intake. A cover keeps most of that off the surface, so a quick wipe is often enough when the season starts again.
