What this cover is

The Silver Shield Drape-Over AC Cover is an outdoor cover made for air conditioning units. It keeps rain, dust and snow off the unit when the unit is not in use. The material is 100% polyester. Sizes

Pick the size that matches your unit. Measure the width, depth and height of the unit before you order. If your unit falls between two sizes, choose the larger one for easier coverage.

Weather protection

The polyester fabric is waterproof, dust-resistant and snow-resistant. Rain runs off the surface instead of soaking through. Dust stays off the top and sides of the unit. Snow slides off more easily than it would from an uncovered unit. This helps keep the coils and vents cleaner through the off season.

Keep in mind that this is a cover, not a sealed enclosure. Air can still move around the unit, which helps prevent trapped moisture. Check the cover after heavy storms and brush off any standing water or packed snow.

How to fit and use it

1. Turn off the unit before you cover it.
2. Let the unit cool down if it has been running.
3. Measure the unit and confirm your size choice.
4. Drape the cover over the top and pull it down the sides.
5. Smooth out folds so water does not pool on top.
6. Tuck the bottom edges under the unit or against the wall if you can.

For window AC units, cover the unit from the outside. For outdoor condenser units, cover the whole cabinet. Remove the cover before you run the unit again. Do not run the unit with the cover on.

Care

Shake off loose dust and leaves before you store the cover. Hand wash with mild soap and cool water. Rinse well. Air dry fully before you fold it. Store it in a dry place when the season is over. Do not machine wash hot, do not bleach and do not iron. With basic care, the silver finish and the polyester fabric hold up for many seasons.
