What this window screen kit is

This is a simple window screen kit for covering a window opening. The panel is nylon mesh, a light netting that lets air move through while it sits over the frame. Instead of staples or a rigid frame, the panel holds with hook-and-loop fastener. You run the tape around the window frame, then press the mesh onto it.

The kit comes with a single-piece tulle panel and a roll of hook-and-loop tape. That is all you need to set it up. It suits windows where you want a removable screen you can take down and put back without tools.

Sizes

The panel comes in two sizes. Measure your window frame before you order so the mesh covers the opening with a little overlap for the tape.

Size Metric
51 x 59 in 130 x 150 cm
59 x 79 in 150 x 200 cm

If your frame is close to one of these sizes, pick the larger option so you have room to trim or fold the edge. The mesh is soft, so a small amount of extra material is easy to manage.

Colors

You can pick black, white or gray. Black reads as a dark, low-glare screen against most window frames. White blends with white trim and light walls. Gray sits between the two and works with many modern frames. All three colors use the same nylon mesh and the same hook-and-loop fastening.

How to fit and use it

  1. Clean the frame where the tape will go. Wipe away dust and grease so the tape holds well.
  2. Peel the backing from the hook-and-loop tape and press it around the frame. Work along the top, then the sides, then the bottom.
  3. Press the tape down firmly along its full length.
  4. Lay the mesh panel over the opening and press its edge onto the tape, starting at one corner and working around.
  5. Check the fit. Smooth out any loose areas and press again where the mesh meets the tape.

To open the window or take the screen down, pull the mesh away from the tape. The tape stays on the frame, so you can press the panel back on later. This makes the kit handy for windows you open often.

Care and upkeep

Dust the mesh now and then with a soft brush or a vacuum on a low setting. For a deeper clean, take the panel down and hand wash it in mild soap and water, then let it air dry fully before you press it back on the frame. Keep the tape free of lint and grit so it keeps its grip. If the tape loses hold over time, replace it with a fresh strip.

Where it works well

This kit suits standard window frames, rental spaces and rooms where you want a screen you can remove without damage. Because it fastens with tape, there are no screws or staples and no frame to build. Measure first, then choose the size and color that fit your space.
