Round Kettle Grill Cover

What this cover is

The Round Kettle Grill Cover is a simple, sturdy shield for a round kettle grill. It is made of PVC, a smooth material that keeps rain off the grill body, the lid and the grate area. The cover is waterproof, so water runs off instead of soaking through. A drawstring hem runs along the bottom edge. Pull the cord and the cover cinches around the base of the grill, which helps hold it in place on breezy days.

This is a cover only. It does not include a grill, tools or any other item. You get one black cover in the box.

Size and fit

One size is available. Check your grill before you order.

Measure the widest point of your grill, including any side shelves or handles that stick out. Measure the height from the ground to the top of the lid. If your grill is at or under 28 in (70 cm) in both directions, this cover should fit. If your grill is wider or taller, it will not.

Round kettle grills come in a range of sizes, so a quick tape measure check saves a return. This cover suits round shapes best. It is not cut for rectangular griddles or carts with square corners.

Color

The cover comes in black. A dark cover blends in on a patio, deck or backyard and does not show splashes and dust as quickly as a light color. Black also warms up in direct sun, which helps shed light rain and morning dew.

How to put it on and take it off

Let the grill cool completely before you cover it. A warm lid can trap heat and moisture under the PVC.

1. Set the cover over the top of the grill and pull it down over the sides.
2. Work the hem past the lid handle and any side handles.
3. Pull the drawstring at the bottom until the hem sits snug around the base.
4. Tie or tuck the loose cord so it does not drag on the ground.

To remove the cover, loosen the drawstring first, then lift the cover straight up. Fold it loosely and store it in a dry spot when you are cooking.

Care and storage

PVC is easy to clean. Wipe the cover with a damp cloth and a mild soap, then rinse with water from a hose or bucket. Let it air dry fully before you put it back on the grill. Do not machine wash or tumble dry it.

A few habits keep the cover in good shape:

• Shake off leaves and standing water after a storm.
• Keep sharp edges, such as a metal grill brush or a bent handle, away from the inside of the cover.
• Store the cover out of direct sun for long periods when the grill is in heavy use.
• Check the drawstring now and then and retie it if it comes loose.
