What this grill cover is

The Shield Grill and Griddle Cover is an outdoor cover made for barbecue grills and flat-top griddles. It slips over your unit and shields it from rain, sun, dust and everyday grime. The fabric has a 0.1 mm thickness and a black finish that suits most patios and backyards.

The material is waterproof, UV-resistant, dustproof and corrosion-resistant. That mix matters because an outdoor grill faces several kinds of weather in one season. Rain soaks into bare metal. Sun dries out and fades surfaces. Dust settles into burners and grates. This cover puts a layer between your grill and all of it.

Each order includes one grill cover. It is not dishwasher safe, so keep it out of the kitchen appliance cycle and clean it by hand as described below.

Sizes to fit your grill or griddle

Seven sizes are available. Measure your grill or griddle before you choose, and compare your numbers to the list below.

A small kettle grill and a large cart-style grill do not need the same cover. The shorter sizes suit compact units, while the longer sizes fit wide grills and griddle carts. If your measurement falls between two sizes, think about which parts of the grill you want covered and how the cover will sit at the base.

Color and finish

The cover comes in black. A dark cover blends with most grill bodies, carts and patio furniture, and it does not show splashes and dust as quickly as a light color. The black fabric also reads as a clean, simple layer over your cooking setup rather than a bright accent.

How to fit and use it

Let your grill cool completely before you put the cover on. Heat trapped under fabric can damage the material and the finish on your grill.

Place the cover over the top of the grill and pull it down over the sides. Check that it sits evenly and that no sharp edges, such as a side shelf or a thermometer, are pushing hard against the fabric. A cover that rests flat lasts longer than one pulled tight over corners.

Use the cover whenever the grill is not in use. That includes short breaks between cooks, overnight, and longer stretches when the grill sits unused. The waterproof and UV-resistant fabric works while the cover is in place, so a cover left in a shed does nothing for your grill.

When you cook, take the cover off and set it somewhere dry. Do not leave it on the ground where it can pick up dirt or sit in a puddle.

Care and storage

Rinse the cover with water and let it dry fully before storing it. Dirt and grease rinse off best before they set, so a quick rinse after a dusty week helps.

Do not put the cover in a dishwasher. Hand rinsing is enough. Let the cover air dry on a line or over a rail, then fold it and store it in a dry spot. Storing it damp can lead to odors and mildew on the fabric.
