What this shade sail is

The Harbor Rectangular Canvas Shade Sail is an outdoor cover made of 185 gsm canvas. The fabric is waterproof and UV-resistant, so it blocks harsh sun while standing up to wet weather. Rain does not pool on top: the weave lets water pass through, which keeps the sail light and helps it hold its shape. Metal grommets sit along the edges, including the corners, so you have a strong point to tie off on every side.

Use it over a patio, a deck, a yard seating area or a pergola. The rectangular shape covers long tables, lounge zones and walkways better than a triangle, and the canvas gives you solid shade without a plastic look.

Sizes

Pick the size that matches your space. All sizes are rectangular.

Measure your anchor points before you order. The sail needs to reach each mount with a little slack for the ropes.

Colors

Four colors are available:

How to fit and use it

1. Choose your mount points. You need four solid anchors, such as posts, beams, walls or trees.
2. Check the spacing. The distance between opposite anchors should be close to the sail size, with room for the ropes.
3. Attach the ropes. Thread a rope through each corner grommet and tie it to your anchor.
4. Use the carabiner where it helps. The included carabiner gives you a quick clip point on one corner.
5. Tension the sail. Pull it snug but not tight. A little give lets rain pass through and reduces strain on the fabric and grommets.
6. Angle it slightly. A small slope helps water move off the surface instead of sitting in one spot.

For a cleaner look, run the ropes at matching angles on both sides. If you mount the sail over a table, keep the low corner away from walk paths so no one bumps their head.

Care and storage

Rinse the sail with water and let it dry fully before you store it. Folding it dry keeps the canvas fresh and ready for the next season. Check the ropes and grommets now and then, and retie any knot that has worked loose.
